My work is a 45 x 60 cm acrylic painting titled “Monday Morning”. In my artwork I portray myself laying by a riverbank, being morphed into a tree. This painting explores my feelings now with the pandemic, choosing a career path, and my gender identity. I feel planted, as if I’ve been ingrained into the place, I’m in, but being at peace with it. Finding beauty in the everyday and allowing myself to grow, yet I am yearning for the life around me. Deep water has always been a fear of mine, because it is unknown but after a year of isolation, I am ready to explore every party of it.
