Multiple transparent materials interact well with light: glass, plastic, water and bubble are used in this installation. The artist considers the relationship and common point between these object, there are fruit basket, plastic bag and packet label. They are all modern product use as container, so the artist designs remain these function in this piece, and add a low poly 3D bird model to be the main subject. The installation basically work the way as the Russian toy Matryoshka, the bird model put in an apple shape plastic bag, hold them in the glass fruit basket, float around with bubble. Visually each bubble contains an isolate world.

For those sleepless nights, I lay in bed.

Toronto Sunset 2021 is a series urban painting record GTA lockdown during 2020 to 2021 winter period. Due to COVID-19, people need to stay home to avoid social contact and virus spread. Sunset, the time people used to get off work and go home, the most heavy traffic time suddenly empty and quiet down. Nobody wait in the bus stop, nobody step on the sidewalk. That painter intends to show the quiet loneliness sunset view of the isolated neighborhood during lockdown. Special thanks to my friend Jimmy Xie, his comment about lockdown Toronto “My city dead” inspire me to do these series for sharing the impression and feeling of current period by art.

In general art pieces, red thread tie up between two people's tail finger. In this piece, a mess of red thread to trap the protagonist, metaphor the inescapable bonds imposed by the society, the shackles from people. The rope tying method on the figure refers to prisoner bondage in ancient Japan. Also, white is holy color, and white clothing is the common dress for ceremony.
