This piece is in response to the prompt "create a unique, twenty-six-character alphabet". I wanted to combine and contrast 'real-life' with art. I achieved this by using real images of flowers combined with digital illustrations, and highlighting letter shapes in real life activities. This piece challenges the viewer to see the alphabet hidden within the illustrations, creating a satisfying result when the letters reveal themselves.

This piece was created in response to the prompt 'create a 60 minute semi-blind contour drawing'. I created this piece in three twenty-minute sittings. I positioned myself in front of a mirror in a loft in my parents house. I enjoy how loose this drawing feels and the whimsical style it created. This piece was one of the first I created in the Arts Fundamentals program and it helped improve my line quality, and confidence. If you look closely you can spot my cat twice as he moved around the space while I was drawing.

This painting is a response to the prompt 'create a full colour self portrait from life'. I wanted to capture not only my likeness in this piece, but also my personality. I chose a relaxed and pensive pose for myself which I felt represented my mood while painting. As the painting developed I added paint splatters to my hands and face which mimicked the reality of my painting process. This painting was a great improvement from my original self portrait which gives me the confidence and drive to continue painting.
