Ana Kuster is a bilingual digital multidisciplinary designer with a desire to inject delight into today's visual communication, from posters to commercials to apps. Through her expertise in a variety of digital art and design software, she creates artwork that embodies a sense of whimsy and personality, while also often serving a commercial or informational purpose. She won a Silver Medal and the Heather Whitton Award from Sheridan College during her time studying there. In August 2022, she will continue exploring her current interest in digital animated content through the Motion Design BFA at Ringling College in Sarasota, Florida.

"See You on the Flip Side"

An illustration inspired by the changes in social interactions that occurred after the COVID pandemic started. The black-and-white portions were drawn with pencil, marker, and fineliner on 18" x 24" newsprint paper. It was then photographed and brought into Photoshop, where the colored lake portion was drawn digitally. This separation between the physical media and digital media further conveys the work's theme.

Ana Kuster's Portfolio Gallery

A virtual 3D gallery containing a selection of artwork I have made during my time studying at Sheridan College. After designing the entire space and creating a floor plan for it, I digitally modeled the architecture and placed images of my artwork inside the model. The gallery is compatible with virtual reality headsets through the VRChat platform, allowing a visitor to experience it in VR.

A functional table lamp. The nest and its contents are made of laser cut cardstock that was bent into its final shapes. The vines and leaves underneath the nest were digitally modeled and 3D printed; they were designed in advance to be able to properly hold the wooden sticks in place.

Trojan Horse

Trojan Horse

A wooden toy horse that references the Trojan horse virus on one side. The wheels are able to rotate, allowing the whole piece to move forwards and backwards. The horse is made of thick layers of laser cut wood pieces, which gives it depth and allows it to contain a layered diorama on its hollow side.

Whack-A-Mole

A functioning Whack-A-Mole game that uses buttons and LED lightbulbs. The box contains an Arduino board and several electronic components connecting the board to the buttons and lightbulbs. Apart from the physical object, I also created the code for the game using Arduino IDE.
