The horror diptych series features the presence and contrast of technology through a documentary-like haunted occurrence in an apartment dorm. The two shots side by side are the same composition. However, the ghost's existence on the right series creates different glitched effect that shifts the calming mood of the left series. I was inspired by ‘a ghost story’, a somber narrative conveying a ghost roaming his house while time moves without him. I wanted to convey a disturbing sequence of the ghost slowly moving to the bottom floor with different visual effects. The filters are to mask the ghost as to make their presence other worldly. One photo is stylized as a regular camera shot. While the other is processed like a broken disposable camera to distinguish time realities. The stylistic approach will have shallow depth of field, and vintage camera dithering; almost documentary in design.

The 'Duties of a Designer' is a mockup infographic for a museum exhibition featuring the 3D designer Philippe Starck. The infographic showcases the biography, architecture and industrial designs Starck created throughout his years. To make the placement of products appear seamless, I wanted to convey his main tenants when approaching his designs; subversive, ethical, ecological, political, and humorous. The ideas was not to just show information, but to move the viewer's eye and create a interior space with these products. Scale was used to accolated the real scale of the products. Closure invites a playful association with the product and text. And the condense font keeps the text readable, but keeps the attention towards the products.

The compositions are self portraits painted in a graffiti like style in front of a surreal background. I wanted to convey the tonal contrast of my outwardly appearance, and my inner self. My stoic self is largely viewed through my facial expressions. Emoting towards other people doesn't come as easily as most people. Though my stoicism isn't my only self. I have an explosive mind that is conveyed through my many compositions in visual arts. The multi-colour backgrounds and solid black shadows of the face creates a contrasting scene that displays my personality. The text: Xian, Mike, and Will are shorten versions of my full name.
